OPCGateway

The OPCGateway is needed to connect ErgoTech's OPCDA Client servers to an OPCDA Server.

The OPCGateway is installed by extracting the OPCGateway.zip on the Windows system running the OPCDA Server.

Extract the zip into a public directory, such as C:/Users/Public/ErgoTech, or the C:/ErgoTech directory on older systems. The OPCGateway must be run as “Administrator” on the host system. If you do not run as administrator you cannot connect to OPCDA items in the Servers through the Gateway from the ErgoTech software.

Run the OPCGateway as Administrator

To run the OPCGateway as adminstrator:

• Browse to the OPCGateway directory and right click on the OPCGateway.exe.
• Click on Properties at the bottom of the options popup.
• Use the “Compatibility” tab on the Properties panel to select “Run this program as administrator” in the Settings area.
• Then press the Apply button at the bottom, then OK to close the panel.
