Overview

The Radial graphic is a Basic Layout indicator used to display a numeric value on a round gauge.

Radial is useful when an application needs to show a value visually with a pointer, scale, threshold, LCD readout, or colored ranges.

Radial shares general Active Graphic behavior. See Active Graphic for shared visibility, quality, and runtime display behavior.

Common Uses

  • Displaying a numeric value on a round gauge
  • Showing operating ranges such as normal, low, high, and high-high
  • Displaying a threshold or warning point
  • Showing a value with an LCD-style readout
  • Providing a gauge-style dashboard indicator

Input Behavior

The Radial display can be updated from an input connection.

This allows the Radial to display a changing numeric value from a data source, calculation, or another logic component.

Output Behavior

Radial is primarily used as a display graphic.

It does not function as a user input control.

Radial-Specific Behavior

Radial is a round gauge-style indicator with configurable gauge, frame, foreground, background, pointer, LCD, LED, threshold, range, and label settings.

Radial-specific settings may include:

  • GaugeType Controls the overall gauge layout or style.
  • FrameDesign Sets the frame style.
  • FrameVisible Controls whether the frame is shown.
  • BackgroundColor Sets the background color.
  • BackgroundVisible Controls whether the background is shown.
  • ForegroundType Controls the foreground style.
  • ForegroundVisible Controls whether the foreground layer is shown.
  • PointerColor Sets the pointer color.
  • PointerType Sets the pointer style.
  • Low Value Sets the bottom of the display range.
  • High Value Sets the top of the display range.
  • Threshold Sets the threshold value.
  • ThresholdVisible Controls whether the threshold marker is shown.
  • LcdVisible Controls whether the LCD display is shown.
  • LcdDecimals Sets the number of decimal places shown in the LCD display.
  • LedColor Sets the LED indicator color.
  • TitleString Sets the gauge title text.
  • UnitString Sets the unit label text.

Logic Ports

In the Logic Editor, Radial may include:

  • updateDisplayedValue

The updateDisplayedValue port is used to update the displayed Radial value.

Notes

Use Radial when a round gauge-style display is needed for a numeric value.
