==== Overview ====

The Polygon graphic is a basic shape graphic similar to [[mistudio:design_editor:basic_layout:basic_shapes:box|Box]], but it displays as a multi-sided shape.

Use Polygon when a display area, fill indicator, or dashboard shape needs a custom polygon appearance instead of a rectangle or circle.

==== Difference From Box ====

Polygon shares many of the same display and input behaviors as [[mistudio:design_editor:basic_layout:basic_shapes:box|Box]], including fill behavior, label display, color action, fill direction, high and low values, and data source input behavior.

The main difference is that Polygon includes shape-specific settings for the number of sides and starting angle.

==== Polygon-Specific Properties ====

**Number of Sides** Controls how many sides the polygon has.

**Starting Angle** Controls the rotation or starting orientation of the polygon shape.
